Safety On The Court
- A waiver agreement must be signed by every player entering the courts. You may sign a hard copy in the Pro Shop or print off the below Pickleball Waiver Agreement (“Waiver”) and bring with you. Please note, players under the age of 18, must have parent or guardian consent on the Waiver prior to play. One Waiver is valid for the 2025 season.
- Don’t overplay your current physical condition. “Just one more game” may cause injury. Know your limits.
- Hydrate. Drink water. Especially on hot, summer days.
- Stretch before and AFTER playing.
- If you hit a ball into another court, immediately yell “BALL”. Do NOT chase a ball onto the other court in play.
- If a ball comes onto your court, STOP PLAY AT ONCE. Same if you hear “BALL” yelled from the other court – STOP PLAY.
- If you feel or see signs of dizziness, weakness, or lack of concentration, take a time-out. Be cautious.
- Bad shoes are not safe…leave your sandals, flip-flops and non-court shoes outside the court. Wear low-profile court shoes to avoid injury and be your best. Change into clean, proper shoes and keep the court clean.
- Be aware of where your partner is. Hold-up from hitting the ball when your partner is in your way or swing path.
- Let lob-shots go if your mobility is limited. Do not back-pedal or risk injury for a lob – let the point go (it may not even land in!). Turn and run, or sidestep backwards safely to retrieve lobs, if you are able.
- Diving for balls not recommended – at all… not a soft landing.
- If someone falls all play STOPS until their needs are addressed.
- First Aid Kits and a Defibrillator (De-fib) is available in the clubhouse – in The Gallery restaurant on the timber post beside the Pepsi fridge.
- Play safe. Enjoy!
