The Course
Lets face it… Where you play golf or purchase a membership isn’t a life or death decision, but it will help you make the most of Calgary’s hot summer days; you want to be in the perfect setting, surrounded by friends as you enjoy the best game around! Challenge yourself while taking in the natural beauty of our course, then top off your day by relaxing in our casual atmosphere and take advantage of our complete member services. You’ll be proud to invite guests to Springbank Links… and to call us your home club.
The Front 9
A premium is placed on club selection and strategy as the front 9 carves through a series of steep valleys that roll their way down to the Bearspaw Reservoir. Numerous elevation changes bring exciting shots through chutes of trees and over ball-hungry ravines. Club selection is important throughout the course, but critical on three consecutive holes (5, 6 & 7) known as the “Devil’s Triad”… play smart and beat the Devil!
The Back 9
The back 9 is a whole new game as the course completely transforms into rolling terrain, and features two lakes, two ponds and a magnificent sandstone waterfall splitting greens 12 & 14. Wider fairways allow you to unleash off every tee. White silica bunkers and native fescue rough guide your ball to our immaculate fairways where your ball will “sit up” perfectly for your approach shot. The contrast between the two nines exposes the unique character of Springbank Links. Spectacular scenery and exciting golf… you’ll never be bored.
The Architect
The route design was created by Rod Whitman, the same man responsible for the renowned Wolf Creek Golf Resort in Central Alberta. The sculpting of Springbank Links focused on existing landscape preservation while exposing a unique, exciting layout that was selected by the Royal Canadian Golf Association to host the 2001 “Canadian Club Champions Championship”. Total yardage from the forward tees is 5180 and stretches back to 6777 from the tips (pro tees).
